Campaign in a Nutshell:
suf·fer·ance [suhf-er-uhns, suhf-ruhns] – noun: 1. passive permission resulting from lack of interference; tolerance, esp. of something wrong or illegal (usually prec. by on or by). 2. capacity to endure pain, hardship, etc.; endurance. 3. Archaic. suffering; misery.
Meta-Information:

This particular campaign came to being as a temporary short-run side game put together in response to a major player unexpectedly leaving our previous main campaign. We went around the table a few times to establish the basics of the new game and its setting, and quickly jumped into it.

I admit that I am rather pleased at how quickly we decided upon a new game, laid out a basic setting from scratch, created four brand new characters, and started playing. I think that whole process took maybe an hour and a half, which rocks.

Also, the primary purpose of this campaign is actual playtesting. Up until now we have been doing a lot of live design, and for this campaign we've decided to hold back the design notes until afterwards.

Campaign Backstory:

The mining colony of Sufferance, on a planet in a star system far from Earth, is home to 33 civilians, miners and scientists alike. One day, an unexplainable murder changed the course of the colony's short future.

Well...

Just the colony. But I think the word is very fitting, given the definitions and the context =)
