Been Away For a Bit

NPC's picture

Hey folks, I've been away for a bit, mainly working on some other projects. One of the admins is somewhat MIA, so I'm hoping to find another helping hand to assist with the final setup of this place. I'll keep you all posted on any new changes, and hopefully I can finally get this place looking a bit more spiffy.

PDX Noob Crew

A group focused on introducing Portlanders to the RPG hobby.

Hello Portland! Seriously, have you ever been intrigued by games like Dungeons and Dragons, but just not have the time to learn how to play, or the people to teach you? Perhaps you've heard of some of the various stereotypes of creepy gamer-people, and that's scared you away? Or maybe you've seen the rules and just found them too daunting to deal with on a for-fun basis?

11 year old 90's white trash kid. Poor family, a cigarette behind his ear, and a vocabulary that sounds like he memorized the Cliff Notes to "Talking Like a Sailor."

Subtle Shades: Arc Conclusion

NPC's picture
Synopsis:

In which we use the campaign setting creation method employed in our very first gathering to bring this story arc to a close, setting it up for future continuations.

Session Date:
December 1, 2007
Members Present:

When this session started, we decided as a group to bring the current campaign to a close. There were quite a few reasons for this, of technical, scheduling, and personal matters, and they are too many to go into. We decided to use the same simple system we employed when initially writing up the setting to also bring this arc to a close. Everyone was given 13 tokens, and we went around the table making factual statements about the outcome of the arc. This time, we also employed a simplified version of the Verses "Aspect Card" mechanics.

The Importance of Character Names

You are not eligible to vote in this poll.

I've noticed that a conversation topic that frequently arises between me and a few of my local fellow gamers is Character Names, and more specifically at which point in the creation process you come up with them. I think I just might be a freak in that I always come up with a name first, and then creat ethe character around that name. Well, since I needed to test out how this new polling system works, I figured this would be a good first topic. What do you think?
